Individuals with type 2 diabetes (T2D) are at an increased risk for both cardiovascular disease (CVD) and chronic kidney disease (CKD) compared to those without T2D. CVD and CKD collectively contribute to over half of the deaths seen in patients with T2D.1 Given this heightened risk, there is a crucial need to focus on both primary and secondary prevention strategies for both conditions. Attention to these factors is essential for mitigating the risk of ASCVD in individuals with T2D and CKD.
This comprehensive course addresses the management of comorbid diabetes with ASCVD (Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease) and CKD, providing an in-depth understanding of their intricate interplay, mechanisms, and effective management strategies.
Additionally, the course offers insights into utilizing risk assessment tools and implementing strategies to identify individuals at heightened risk.
Moreover, through case studies, participants will analyze real-world scenarios, applying theoretical knowledge to practical situations. These case studies serve as invaluable learning opportunities, allowing for a deeper understanding of the complexities involved in managing comorbid diabetes, ASCVD, and CKD effectively.
